So, anyone who knows me well, also knows I’m a sucker for people with wings. The person this was painted for, or painted because of, knew me better than most. She passed away in 2016, after becoming a dear friend, confidante, and surrogate grandmother to me. I painted this shortly after her passing, as a means to comfort myself.

The title of the piece is from a song. It was, indeed, a better place since she came along.
